The Ferrari 550 Barchetta Pininfarina stands as one of the final truly analog front-engined V12 Ferraris produced before the transition into the modern era. Created to commemorate Pininfarina’s 70th anniversary, production was limited to just 448 numbered examples worldwide, each fitted with a dashboard plaque signed personally by Sergio Pininfarina. Unlike a conventional convertible, the Barchetta was conceived without a true folding roof, instead supplied with only a lightweight weather cover intended for temporary low-speed use. The result was a car focused entirely on open-air grand touring in its purest form.

Chassis ZFFZR52B000124322 represents the 344th example produced within the 448-car production run. Finished in Grigio Titanio over Bordeaux leather, the car presents in one of the more understated and elegant specifications offered on the Barchetta, avoiding the more commonly seen Rosso Corsa combinations. Power comes from Ferrari’s 5.5-liter Tipo F133B V12 producing 485 horsepower, paired with the six-speed gated manual transaxle that defines the late analog Ferrari driving experience.

The car was documented in the Netherlands no later than 2010, with sightings recorded in both Zwolle and Limburg during early European ownership. During this period, the Barchetta was maintained in storage through Forza Service in Oss, a respected Dutch Ferrari specialist. With fewer than 15,800 kilometers accumulated across more than two decades, the car’s mileage history reflects preservation-focused ownership consistent with long-term collection use rather than regular road driving.

In early 2024, chassis 4322 re-entered the European collector scene, first appearing at the International Amsterdam Motor Show before being transported directly to Techno Classica Essen, one of the most important classic car gatherings in Europe. Shortly thereafter, the car was exhibited at Top Marques Monaco 2024 through the Monte-Carlo specialist Top Classics. Following its Monaco presentation, the Barchetta entered Monaco-based ownership, where it was registered under license plate “344X,” an apparent reference to its production number within the 448-car series.

Today, the car presents with approximately 15,800 kilometers indicated at the time of cataloging. The original numbered Sergio Pininfarina plaque remains fitted to the dashboard, while the Grigio Titanio over Bordeaux specification continues to give the car a restrained and highly distinctive presence among contemporary Ferrari open-top models.

As one of just 448 examples produced, the 550 Barchetta occupies a singular place within Ferrari’s modern V12 lineage. Chassis 344 combines low recorded mileage, preserved originality, recent European exhibition history, and an elegant factory specification that underscores the grand touring character originally envisioned by Ferrari and Pininfarina. Presented today as a collector-grade example, it remains one of the most charismatic and uncompromising open V12 Ferraris of its generation.
