As of 2014, both Lamborghini and Ferrari ceased production of any manual gearbox models. Replaced completely with fast shifting, smooth and advanced automatic units. While technologically advanced, lets face it, as an enthusiast the F1 and E-Gear gearboxes are lacking something…

After spending thousands of miles behind the wheel of a Ferrari 458, Lamborghini Huracan, Lamborghini Aventador and Porsche 911 Turbo with PDK I found myself yearning for the classic 6-speed manual gearbox. Yes, the new cars are fast, comfortable and great in traffic, but what’s the point?

The purpose of an exotic/sports car is not to be comfortable in traffic, it’s purpose is to plant a massive grin on your face. I haven’t found myself waking up early on a Sunday morning excited about a joy ride in a 458.

Since 2014 the values of the last generation of exotic, sports and supercars fitted with a manual gearbox has in many cases increased by as much as 120%. Collectors have been chasing the limited production of Ferrari 599 manual cars, Ferrari F430 manual cars and even Lamborghini Murcielago examples. Ironically, while these cars were in production most buyers did not choose to spec the car with the classic 6-speed gearbox so supply is VERY limited.

We recently purchased an incredible 2003 Ferrari 360 Spider, equipped with a proper 6-speed manual. Truly, a collector example Ferrari 360 with only 5,100 miles finished in Giallo Modena, over black Leather interior and yellow stitching.

To top it off, the car was delivered new to F1 star Juan Pablo Montoya by The Collection Ferrari Miami dealership. Literally around the same time Montoya won the 2003 Monaco Grand Prix while driving for Williams-BMW. The car comes complete with all books, tools and records including the warranty booklet signed by Montoya.

The ultimate collector Ferrari 360? We think so… Available now only at Curated.
