More details
The SLS AMG Black Series represents the final naturally aspirated flagship of the modern AMG era and remains one of the most significant performance cars ever produced by Mercedes-Benz. As the only gullwing model to receive the Black Series treatment, the car combined aggressive weight reduction, motorsport-focused chassis development, and the most powerful naturally aspirated V8 ever fitted to a production Mercedes-Benz at the time of its release.
Chassis WDDRJ7HA9EA010706 was ordered through Mercedes-Benz Canada and finished in the exceptionally rare specification of Mars Red over Designo Black leather and Alcantara with red contrast stitching and red seatbelts. Factory records confirm production completion on October 30, 2013, with delivery following on November 11th. Of the approximately 350 SLS AMG Black Series examples produced worldwide, Mars Red is believed to account for just five cars, making this one of the rarest color combinations offered on the model.
Originally delivered in Alberta, Canada, the car remained carefully preserved throughout its early ownership, showing just 154 kilometers by April 2016. It later relocated to the United States, spending time in both Georgia and Florida while continuing to accumulate mileage sparingly. In March 2019, shortly after arriving in Sarasota, the car underwent inspection and servicing through Mercedes-Benz of Sarasota at just 925 miles.
Most recently, the car has been maintained through Mercedes-Benz Coral Gables in Miami, Florida. In June 2024, at 1,803 miles, a comprehensive service included alignment, brake fluid flush, oil and filter service, and replacement of all four tires. The car returned again in January 2026 at 1,854 miles for additional servicing including oil and filter change, front brake pad replacement, air filter cleaning, battery and charging system inspection, headlight replacement, and detailing.
Today, the car presents with approximately 1,860 miles from new at the time of cataloging. The Mars Red finish is protected by full-body paint protection film, while factory options including the AMG Exterior Carbon Package, carbon fiber engine cover, and AMG Aerodynamics Package remain intact. The interior presents exceptionally well, showing only minimal wear consistent with the recorded mileage. The car rides on Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires dated 2023.
Combining one of the rarest production color specifications, exceptionally low mileage, continuous authorized Mercedes-Benz servicing, and the singular significance of the Black Series platform, chassis 0706 represents an outstanding example of AMG’s definitive naturally aspirated supercar.
