More details
The 1971 Lamborghini Miura SV represents the final and most developed evolution of Lamborghini’s original mid-engine V12 platform. Introduced in 1971, the SV refined the Miura formula with a series of mechanical and visual updates. Power came from Lamborghini’s 4.0-liter transverse V12 producing approximately 385 horsepower, while revisions included a wider rear track, updated rear suspension geometry, and a split-sump lubrication system that separated engine and gearbox oils.
Chassis #5056, engine #30739, production number #726, was completed for the U.S. market and delivered on June 26, 1972 to Modena Car in New York. Originally finished in Beige over Testa di Moro and equipped with factory air conditioning, it is one of just ten U.S.-market Miura SVs delivered on that same date.
As the final chapter of the Miura program, the SV reflects Lamborghini’s most advanced development of the model that introduced the transverse mid-engine V12 layout to the supercar world. Its engineering updates and limited production place it among the most significant cars produced by the brand during the early 1970s.
