More details
The 1999 Lamborghini Diablo VT Roadster represents the final evolution of the first-generation open-top Diablo. Chassis LA12303, finished in Argento Titanio over black with 10,000 miles, showcases updates exclusive to the 1999 model year—making it one of the most refined versions of Lamborghini’s first production V12 roadster.
Powered by a 5.7-liter, 48-valve V12 producing 529 horsepower, the 1999 VT Roadster benefits from a range of mechanical and cosmetic improvements. The updated Viscous Traction all-wheel-drive system offers improved stability, while a revised ECU and refined gearing deliver sharper throttle response and smoother power delivery.
This final-year model features fixed composite headlamps in place of the earlier pop-up units, aligning the design with the Diablo SV and GT variants. Additional 1999-only updates include a more modernized interior with updated switchgear and improved ergonomics.
The carbon fiber targa roof remains removable and stows over the engine cover, preserving the Diablo’s proportions with the top off. Enlarged rear intakes, SE30-style vertical slats for brake cooling, and unique OZ Racing three-piece wheels complete the package.
The 1999 production run marked the end of the original Diablo VT Roadster before the introduction of the heavily reworked 6.0L models under Audi’s stewardship. With limited production and model-specific upgrades, chassis LA12303 sits among the most developed and desirable first-generation Diablo Roadsters.
