More details
Automobili Lamborghini and Blancpain joined forces to celebrate the success of the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo racing series with a special edition super sports car: the Gallardo LP 570-4 Blancpain Edition.
The car brings the competition spirit of the Super Trofeo race car to a fully road-legal package, pairing an exclusive design with everyday usability. The first Blancpain Edition Gallardo off the limited production run was unveiled by Stephan Winkelmann, President and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini, and Marc A. Hayek, President and CEO of Blancpain, during the final race weekend of the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo at the "Piero Taruffi" circuit in Vallelunga.
Lamborghini and Blancpain each rank among the most respected names in their industries — Lamborghini in extreme Italian super sports cars, Blancpain as the world's oldest luxury watchmaker, recently named "Best of the Best" among luxury watch brands by New York's Luxury Institute. The two companies partnered to blend automotive and horological engineering into the Gallardo LP 570-4 Blancpain Edition, channeling the power of the world's fastest mono-marque race series into a car built for the street.
Blancpain serves as title sponsor of the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo, uniting two brands built on precision engineering. Blancpain has crafted watches in Switzerland's Vallée de Joux since 1735, with each timepiece assembled by a single watchmaker — a level of individual attention that mirrors how Lamborghini builds both its road cars and its 570 hp Super Trofeo race cars.
Racing runs deep in both brands. Beyond its role with the Super Trofeo, Blancpain serves as official timekeeper for the FIA GT1 World Championship, where Lamborghini also competes. In July, the marque took its first win in the championship at Spa-Francorchamps, with former Formula One driver Riccardo Zonta and co-driver Frank Kechele taking the top step.
"Lamborghini is extremely happy about its cooperation with Blancpain. In just its second year, the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo has established itself in the premier league of gentlemen's racing," says Stephan Winkelmann, President and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini. "Each race is a battle of dedication and passion for every single hundredth of a second — something that characterizes both of our brands. The Gallardo LP 570-4 Blancpain Edition demonstrates the close bond between our road-going super sports cars and the race car."
"This is a very intense and dynamic partnership between companies from highly disparate sectors, but with the same drive for innovation and mechanical excellence," says Marc A. Hayek, President and CEO of Blancpain. "For me, Blancpain has always been a true revolutionary – even a little crazy – with the spirit of adventure. We have always tried to be a little different, to remain innovative and to attempt things that no-one had ever achieved before. This pursuit of excellence is a passion that is shared by Blancpain and Lamborghini," continues Hayek. "Lamborghini is indisputably a first-class manufacturer with the highest levels of engineering competence, which is why the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo offers a perfect platform for attracting even more attention to our brand around the world."
Hayek isn't just Blancpain's President and CEO — he's also a genuine race driver, with several Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo victories to his name and a current run at the podium in the Pro-Am Drivers' Standings.
The Blancpain Edition wears its competition roots openly. The oversized rear wing and vented engine cover were pulled directly from the Super Trofeo race car, and the package rides on Skorpius wheels with yellow-painted calipers gripping carbon-ceramic discs. Against the matte black paint, carbon-fiber components — the diffuser, mirror caps — stand out as a signature visual cue.
Inside, black Alcantara with yellow accent stitching and exposed carbon-fiber carries the sporting theme through without giving up comfort for driver or passenger. The Blancpain logo appears both outside the car and stitched into the seats and cockpit in yellow. Power comes from the same 570 hp naturally aspirated V10 used in the Superleggera and the Super Trofeo race car itself, paired with all-wheel drive for stability across conditions.
Dry weight comes in at just 1,340 kg (2,954 lb) — the lightest road car in Lamborghini's lineup — thanks largely to extensive use of carbon-fiber inside and out, which cuts mass, sharpens the power-to-weight ratio, and lowers emissions in the process.
The 5.2-liter V10 makes 570 hp (419 kW), giving the Blancpain Edition a power-to-weight ratio of 2.35 kg/hp (5.18 lb/hp). It runs 0–100 km/h (0–62 mph) in 3.4 seconds, clears 200 km/h (124 mph) 6.8 seconds after that, and tops out beyond 320 km/h (199 mph).
