More details
In 2003, Lamborghini marked four decades of V12 supercars with a limited production run of the Murciélago 40th Anniversary Edition. Following in the tradition of the 25th Anniversary Countach and 30th Anniversary Diablo SE, this special edition was offered exclusively in Europe, Japan, and the United States.
Only 50 units were built. Each one was finished in a three-layer pearl-effect Verde Artemis, a striking jade green exclusive to this model. Enhancements over the standard Murciélago included carbon-fiber exterior elements, revised exhaust, anthracite grey wheels with silver-grey brake calipers, and a commemorative numbered plaque visible through the rear window.
Chassis #0846 is number 13 of 50 produced and shows just 13,500 original miles.
Design and performance updates set this model apart. It features carbon-fiber body panels, aluminum scissor doors, a steel roof, xenon headlights, a pantograph-style single wiper, and active rear intakes that deploy for additional cooling. Carbon-fiber trim extends to the doors and B-pillars.
Inside, the asymmetrical cabin design is unique to the Anniversary Edition. The driver’s side is trimmed in Grigio Syrius perforated leather, while the passenger side features smooth Nero leather. The two-tone layout continues with grey-and-white leather throughout the cockpit, 40th Anniversary-branded floor mats, and an Alpine CD player. Some examples, including this one, are also equipped with satellite navigation.
Built to celebrate Lamborghini’s history while pushing the Murciélago forward, the 40th Anniversary Edition remains one of the most distinctive models in the V12 lineage.
